OptiLag

Terms and conditions

Terms of use of the OptiLag site and software, and terms of sale of the subscriptions.

This English version is a translation provided for convenience. OptiLag is sold from France: only the French version is legally binding.
Publisher information to be completed before going live (EDITEUR_* variables in the site configuration). These texts are a template: have them reviewed by a professional.

1. Purpose

These terms govern creating an account on this site, subscribing and using the OptiLag software, offered by Opticore industries (“the publisher”).

2. Account

Creating an account is free and reserved for people aged 15 and over, or younger with a parent’s consent. You agree to provide a valid email address and to keep your password secret. An account alone doesn’t give access to the software: an active subscription is required.

3. Subscriptions and prices

  • Essentiel: €5 per month, or €36 per year.
  • Pro: €10.99 per month, or €79 per year.

Prices include VAT. What each plan includes is described on the home page. The subscription is paid in advance, for the chosen period, by card through Stripe; the publisher never has access to your bank details.

4. Renewal, plan changes and cancellation

The subscription renews automatically at the end of each period, at the current price. You can cancel it at any time from your account (“Cancel”): it stays active until the end of the period already paid, then stops at no extra cost. For a yearly subscription, a reminder is sent to you before renewal.

You can change your plan or billing period from your account; the difference is prorated over the remaining time. If the price goes up, you’re notified at least 30 days before it applies and you can cancel in the meantime.

If a payment fails, access is kept while Stripe retries the charge; without payment, the subscription ends.

5. Right of withdrawal

OptiLag is digital content supplied without a physical medium. In accordance with Article L221-28 of the French Consumer Code, by requesting immediate access to the software when subscribing and acknowledging that you thereby lose your right of withdrawal, you waive this right as soon as the subscription is activated.

6. License to use

For the duration of your subscription, the publisher grants you a personal, non-exclusive and non-transferable right to install and use OptiLag on your computer, for private use. The license key is personal. Reselling, redistributing, decompiling or modifying the software is prohibited, except within the limits allowed by law.

The software regularly checks that your license is valid with this site. When the subscription ends, it undoes the settings it applied, using its log, and switches to read-only.

7. Operation and liability

OptiLag changes settings of Windows and of some Minecraft launchers, only at your request. Each change is backed up before it’s applied and can be undone from History; a Windows restore point is offered before the first optimization. OptiLag never turns off Windows security protections and changes neither the BIOS nor the drives.

Performance gains depend on your hardware and are not guaranteed. The publisher has an obligation of means. Nothing in these terms limits your consumer rights, in particular the legal guarantee of conformity for digital content.

8. Suspension

The publisher may suspend an account in case of fraud, license sharing or breach of these terms, after informing you, except in an emergency.

9. Complaints and mediation

For any complaint, write to opticore@gmail.com. If no solution is found, you can use, free of charge, the consumer mediator the publisher belongs to (to be specified).

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by French law. In the event of a dispute, the competent courts are those provided for by law.
